What Life Is About Lately

DreamsTime

Yep, this about sums it up! It has been a crazy last couple of months!!

It seems like with each step, we get past a big event then start gearing up for the next. Along the way there has been a few hiccups thrown in and we compensate for those and then keep on trucking.

Right now the big stress factor is getting ready for my mission trip. Each year there is always something that happens before or on the trip that seems to make life a little challenging, or rather really challenging. This year has been no exception. My new found food allergies is making the planning and packing part of this years trip exciting. Since most of the food we eat on the trip consist of food I can not eat is making for lots of forethought and pre-planning on food that I can take with me.

Then hubby starting having lots of pain around graduation and I made him make a doctor appointment last week because I thought it might be his gallbladder dying on him. Well it is his gallbladder, but it seems to be over working instead of dying and there is sludge in it with possible stones lurking about. So he will have surgery on Monday to have it removed. I am a little stressed because I leave in the wee hours Friday night/Saturday morning for my trip and am praying for no complications.

If we can get past this, the last big event this year will be getting DJ off and settled in college. I think that will be more of an emotional thing more than anything else, well depending on who you ask at our home. Some are looking forward to a room that is coming available and another is going crazy at the money aspect and how college reeks havoc on the budget and then there is one that is not looking forward to having a family of four under the roof rather than five. I am sure that you can figure out between those who is who! HA!

Blissfully Happy

So I was just thinking…Am I where I thought I would be today in life?

We were all young, foot-loose and fancy-free, at some point.  Some, a long time ago and some of us, just yesterday.  So am I where I thought I would be?

I always knew I wanted to be married and a mother at some point.  Mostly, I pictured my self as a high-powered attorney, fighting the toughest court cases and of course, winning.  A corner office in a high-rise with a beautiful view of the city.

Instead, I fell in love and life happened, babies came and now I work in a church office as a ministry assistant.  I have an office, not in a high rise with a view of the city, but a cute little room in the middle of our church and there are no big cases that I have to argue over, unless it’s about where to eat lunch .

Family situations are hard and I never thought we would endure things we have.  Broken dryers, flat tires and unexpected bills are inevitable.  All in all, we are in good shape

Laughing with the kids, playing games, enduring through tough teenage drama.  It’s the little things to be thankful  for.

Last night, I woke up and my husband and I carried on a conversation at 1:30 in the morning until we fell asleep again.  This morning, he drove me to work, just because, no other reason.  We share a special bond and a deep love.  We do fuss at times, but for the most part, it’s over silly stuff and nothing life shattering.

Life is good and I am blissfully happy.

So are you where you thought you would be?

A Hodge Podge Of Everything

Wow, where to begin.  There is much to say, much to do and as always not enough time to get it all done.  I have not blogged much lately, but I stalk y’alls blogs often, just do not have time to comment.   I know…that’s bad, just stating the obvious!

First, if you do not follow my cousin April’s blog….I am a new cousin!  She and her husband, Brandon are bringing Harrison home from Taiwan this Thursday and I am just so excited!

Each year our church celebrates an annual Banquet of Tables, so I have been very busy last week getting ready for it.  My friend Pam and I did our table on a laundry theme, “Wrinkle Free Women” and we based our table on the verse Romans 6:4, “…Even so we also should walk in the newness of life.”  One of the guest that were in attendance was Ginny Owens…y’all, she was awesome!  Here are some pictures…

A not so good picture of Ginny Owens.

So that was last week and last night, which leads us to another very busy week.  Our wood floors are being installed tomorrow and our house is in (putting it nice) totally chaos.  We have our living room furniture in the kitchen, along with some of our bedroom furniture.  We have nightstand tables in the master bathroom and it is just total mayhem at our house.  It will be worth it, but right now,  it is craziness.

To top off the craziness of the week, Bradley is having surgery on Tuesday to have the hardware removed my his collarbone, from last years injury.

Wow, lots going on!!  So that's the hodge podge of my life the past few weeks and this week to come!  Hopefully after the next few days and after we get our house in order, I will have time to breath and hopefully relax as the Thanksgiving and Christmas season explodes around us!  Wishful thinking!!
